Army veteran Bill Edwards lives alone, paying the $600 rent with his only source of income, $682 Social Security Check that he receives monthly. Edwards has emphysema and a bad left knee and his health has been deteriorating rapidly. He found that he gets winded even making the short walk to the neighbor's house. "My fun days, it looks like they're ending very abruptly," he said. "I'll tell you what really gets me is that I can't go anywhere," he added. His car was recently reposessed while he was in the hospital, and he missed this past Veteran's Day parade for the first time in 30 years.
